Ottawa -- AmCham Canada has submitted comments on behalf of its members to the Office of the United States Trade Representative in preparation for the upcoming NAFTA negotiations.  "We were pleased to be able to offer the views of our AmCham Canada membership on priorities for the renegotiation of the NAFTA" said AmCham Canada National Chair Rick Tachuk.  "The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) has proven itself as a critical driver of economic growth and job creation in both the United States and Canada for over two decades."

AmCham Canada members rely on the NAFTA agreement as the basis for a growing and thriving commercial engagement across the world’s longest undefended border.  "Through expanded trade, cross-border investment and the integration of supply chains, the NAFTA has helped establish North America as the most economically dynamic and competitive region in the world.  It is essential that the NAFTA modernization takes place in a manner that preserves its current benefits and offers improvements designed to ensure long term growth and prosperity for all three NAFTA partners" .
