John C. Dunn is President of Dunn Consulting Services (DCS) a firm specializes in supporting enterprises, small and big, in the travel, tourism, hospitality, events and convention industries. Its focus being on enhancing client’s strategies and operational plans to increase profitability, manage growth and compete on the world market. John is a 25 year veteran of the tourism and hospitality industry. He was Executive Vice-President of Tourism Montreal
from 2007 to 2009, one of North America’s most avant-garde destination marketing organizations. There he was responsible for the strategic orientation of Montreal’s image, sales and marketing. Before Tourism Montreal, John spent 8 years as Vice-President of Sales & Marketing for Atlific Hotels & Resorts, Canada’s premiere hotel management company, overseeing all sales & marketing strategies for the companies 32 Canadian hotels.
As a leading figure in the tourism and hospitality industry, John has sat on several industry boards such as; the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, The Canadian Hotel Association, The Canadian Society of Association Executives– Quebec chapter, is a founding member of Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International–Canada Chapter, 1st Vice-President of Destination Marketing Association of Canada, industry adviser to the Canadian Tourism Commission and was Chairman of advisory committee for the light rail project, Pierre-Elliott
Trudeau Airport to Downtown Montreal.
Having worked in close collaboration with the world’s leading hotels brands as well as several Canadian cities tourism bureau’s and Montreal’s well respected Convention Centre, John has developed a keen understanding of current issues facing the tourism industry and the world of associations both domestically and internationally.
Born in Sherbrooke, Québec, John is a graduate Acadia University in Nova Scotia and hold certificates from both McGill University and Cornell. John has lived in Montreal-West for 16 years with his wife Anne-Marie Laberge and their two children Andrew and Victoria.
