AmCham National Capital: Special Mid-Summer Membership Reception

 
National Capital Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada was pleased to gather Members and Friends of the Chamber at a special mid-summer Reception, hosted by the U.S. Ambassador in Canada, His Excellency David Jacobson.  
The event gathered prominent US companies operating in the National Capital, Toronto and Quebec. It served as a great networking opportunity and a night to discuss the state of affairs in the US-Canada bilateral relationship.
Ambassador Jacobson opened the event with a brief address on the importance of AmChams worldwide and in Canada in particular.  Richard Steffens, Commercial Minister Councillor for the US Embassy and Rick Tachuk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AmCham outlined the goals and aspirations of AmCham for 2012-2013 and announced the informal launch of the “National Policy Forum” , where AmCham and U.S. Embassy will work closely with the Member companies to establish operational working groups and committees on Tax, Banking and Finance, Customs, Intellectual Property Rights and more.
