Toronto-GTA Chapter Holds Roundtable about Effect of Possible Changes to NAFTA on the Technology Sector

Tuesday, May 2, 2017

Toronto, Ontario – May 2, 2017 – The Toronto-GTA Chapter of the American Chamber of Commerce in Canada held a round table discussion among 40 leading members of the technology, business, media and governmental communities in downtown Toronto to discuss concerns about the effect of possible changes to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) on the technology industry and on the people who contribute to or rely upon this industry.  The roundtable participants agreed that the primary goals of this community are: (i) to work to ensure that any changes to NAFTA do not needlessly impede the free flow of people, ideas and solutions across the border, and (ii) to attempt to prevent trade regulations that address 20th century concerns, or any tweaking made to such regulations, from aversely affecting North American technology businesses in the 21st century.

The round table was moderated by Jeff Musson, the President & CEO of DynamiteNetwork.com, and a keynote presentation was made by Daniel Ujczo, Of Counsel and Cross-Border Business Development Director of Dickinson Wright PLLC.

The Toronto-GTA Chapter of AmCham would like to thank KPMG for its sponsorship of this round table.
